Did the groundwork for the piece today beginning with my gestural figure. I want to get a little more definition for with neck and face area. I'm not sure exactly how to go about that whether I should find a reference photo or create my own reference photo. I will look into it a bit more. I really like my use of different viscosities within the acrylic medium and plan to play around with that a bit more. For now, I am rather excited with where my piece is going!

Final pieces put together at last. I ended up not being able to collect footage of as much pink-related things as I wanted so I had to compile the footage I had taken from the beginning of the summer. The goal was to sort of create just an "artsy" pink video, but I do not think that that was anywhere near accomplished haha. I think in the future I would do something similar again, but pay more attention to camera angles and the shots I wanted to get. I also ended up finishing the mural... it grew to encompass pretty much the entire side wall of our guest bedroom. I'm pretty happy with the left side, there was a lot of layering that I think adds some cool depth to the piece. Of course, if I were allowed, the piece would have some more sculptural, 3-dimensional aspects to it, however, in the future when my parents need to paint over it it needs to be flat haha. The right came out kind of wonky I think. The figure is out of proportion (can specifically be seen in the leg area). This year I really want to play more with the "raw" and "unfinished but finished" look. I like how the legs weren't filled out, and there is a lot of negative space in the piece.
